Thank goodness most have changed to allow for both charging through standard USB ports and almost all use standard USB cables for recharging. Even Apple products use standard USB plugs for all their cables, albeit with odd, proprietary connectors. For example, let’s say you’re using an old 5V/1A charger on a brand-spanking-new smartphone. You’re going to have less than stellar results there, because it’s going to charge the device much more slowly than the charger that came with the phone. Does that mean you can’t use a 5V/2.1A charger, or even a 9V/2A charger (in the case of USB-C)?

I do not have a QC 3.0 device nor do I have a USB-C device to test this out. It’s no secret that I love my Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 chargers because of how quickly they charge my QC 2.0 devices.
